Technical College

Tækniskólinn Technical College is the largest vocational school in Iceland, located in Reykjavìk. Main place for Hands-on activities from Wednesday 15 to Friday 17.

Hotel Mikligardur

14/5 ONLY - Fee includes the accomodation for Tuesday night in Sauðárkrókur, at Hotel Mikligardur. Participants should cover the accomodation from 12-13 and from 13-17 in Reykjavik.

A: Students and Professionals, Textile and Fashion designers, makers, artists, digital fabrication experts and curious minds.
Q: What will I learn?
A: You will learn how to lasercut seamless garments, biofabricating colors and materials, crafting soft sensors to embed in textiles, working with silkworms, natural fibers and fish leather experimenting between old processes and digital fabrication technologies.
Q: How can I apply?

Q: All the materials are included?
A: Yes, the fee includes all the materials and the use of all lab equipment. You can bring additional materials if you want to experiment with.
Q: Will I get any certificate?
A: Yes, we will provide you with a certificate of attendance.
Q: What should I bring with me?
A: Participants should bring their own laptop, in case you don't have one, please inform us in advance. Materials for experimentation, notebook and swimming suit are also recommended.
Q: What is the 3 days pass?
A: The 3 day pass is only for Wednesday, Thursday and Friday Hands On activities and lectures that happen at Tækniskólinn. Participants will not attend the visits and workshops scheduled on Monday and Tuesday.
Q: Do you provide any additaional information?
A: Absolutely. Registered participants will get access to Bootcamp 2019 Handbook containing all the information, tips and suggestions for your journey.
Q: Does the Bootcamp prepare me for the Fabricademy course?
A: Since we will cover many of the topics taught by Fabricademy, the Bootcamp is a useful pre-course for the longer one.
Q: Should I book by myself an accomodation in Reykjavik?
A: Yes, Please book your hotel in advance. You will find Hotel suggestions in the Bootcamp Handbook once you have registered.
Q: Do I have to know something before coming?
A: Basic knowledge in the field of textiles and digital fabrication will make your experience more interesting.
Q: Can you issue an invoice for my company?
A: Yes. Make sure to provide all the necessary information including company name, address, tax id, at the moment you register.
