- Currency: króna (ISK) is the currency of Iceland.
(1€ = 134.62 Icelandic Króna) / (1$ = 119.01 Icelandic Króna) - Weather: the daytime temperature around the coast during May to September is 10-12°C (50-55°F).
- Electricity: Iceland operates on a 230V supply voltage and 50Hz.
There are two associated plug types, type C and type F. - Transport: The principal mode of personal transport in Iceland is the car. There are no public railways although there are bus services.

Iceland’s operators offer prepaid SIM cards, which you can buy from stores, supermarkets,
kiosks, official outlets and at the airport.
Operators include: Iceland telecom Síminn, which provides the greatest network coverage
Vodafone and Nova, a third player, cheap but lacks countrywide coverage. -
Alcohol and Tobacco:
Alcohol is very expensive in Iceland. Check out the the Duty free allowance calculator if you are considering to bring it with you.
According to the Duty Free guide, you are allowed to bring six units of alcohol (per person), and one carton of cigarettes or 250g of other tobacco to Iceland.

Airports

Keflavík International Airport (KEF)
Main country’s hub for international passenger transport, located 49 km (30 min) from Reykjavík center
reachable only by bus services and passenger cars. -
Reykjavík Airport (RKV)
Second largest airport, located 1,5 km from the capital centre.
It serves general aviation traffic and domestic flights and international flights to Greenland and the Faroe Islands. -
Akureyri Airport (AEY) and Egilsstaðir Airport (EGS)
Two other domestic airports with limited international service capacity.
