Activities

  • Trip to the Dead Sea

At 7:00am, the bus for Fabricademy instructors and participants will leave from TechWorks Fab Lab and will reach the Ghor Al-Safi location in approx. 2 hours.

  • Safi Crafts - Indigo Dyeing

Knowledge - Exchange Workshop

From 10am until 13pm, a presentation and a demo will be held at Safi Crafts, where the women of Safi will explain and demonstrate the process of preparing the Indigo bath. Afterwards, participants and instructors will experience the Indigo dyeing altogether, preparing the fabrics and dyeing the fibers and textiles with different techniques.

  • Biochromes - Bacteria Dyeing

Knowledge - Exchange Workshop

After lunch, the Fabricademy participants and the women of Safi will explore dyeing with bacteria of different fibers and bacteria.

  • Trip to Amman

Sunset, Crystals exploration, Salt and Mud experience

The bus will head back to Amman at around 4pm. On the way back, the driver will stop by the Dead Sea shore in time to catch the sunset. Participants will have the opportunity to experience a full Dead Sea Experience, exploring the crystal formation, taking a salt / mud bath and floating in the sea!

  • Natural fibers/textiles: Cotton, Linen, Silk, Wool, Camel Hair…
  • Indigo dye
  • Living Bacteria
