Royal Textile Academy Weavers Workshop¶
The Royal Textile Academy of Bhutan serves as the knowledge hub, dedicated to preserving and promoting Bhutan's textile heritage through exhibitions, educational programs, and innovative initiatives.
We visited the weaving and learning facilities to have a first touch point with Bhutanese expert weavers.

Nestled amidst the Himalayas, the Green Weaving Center (GWC) unfolds as an artistic mandala, fostering a transformative journey towards Gross National Happiness (GNH) in education and eco-business. Here, the rich traditions of Bhutanese weaving are lovingly preserved and taught, while nurturing the young minds of weavers' children through early childhood education, cultivating a community of Happy Leaders and global earth citizens.

Situated in the heart of downtown Thimphu, the Jungshi Handmade Paper Factory breathes life into the ancient art of Bhutanese papermaking, crafting delicate sheets from the fibers of Daphne Papyracea bushes, preserving a traditional craft that echoes the country's deep-rooted cultural heritage with every exquisite creation.
